Challenging Customs Supreme Court Hears Arguments in Two Import-Export Cases By Su Kohn Ross The 1999 U.S. Supreme Court session was quite surprising for practitioners in the import-export arena. At the beginning of the year, the first import-export case was argued before the Supreme Court since the early 1970s. The case involved the harbor-maintenance tax. See U.S. Shoe Corp. v.
