Old-Fashioned Politics Hold Up Cooper Vote
WASHINGTON - Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott, R-Miss., last week scheduled a floor vote on the noncontroversial U.S. District Court nomination of Los Angeles Superior Court judge Florence-Marie Cooper. But Senate politics once again have overwhelmed the judicial confirmation process, and the vote has yet to occur.
