"Casey" Christensen According to recent articles, there are not only too few judicial positions to handle California's swelling dockets, there are too few interested candidates to fill existing open positions - at least the prominent older candidates Gov. Gray Davis wants to appoint. The inevitable result: a gradual slowing, or halting, of certain aspects of the judicial process. It doesn't have to be that way, but fixing the problem may require abandoning some assumptions.
