On July 8, 2014, Gov. Jerry Brown signed Assembly Bill 1659, which sets a uniform briefing schedule for post-trial motions: motion for new trial, motion for judgment notwithstanding the verdict (JNOV), and motion to set aside and vacate the judgment.
