ACLU eyes $1 million in attorney fees as part of LA County jail abuse settlement

The American Civil Liberties Union and Paul Hastings LLP could receive $950,000 as part of the settlement of its 2012 lawsuit against former Sheriff Lee Baca and the jail alleging widespread abuse of inmates by deputies.

The settlement of a federal class action lawsuit against the Los Angeles County jail that alleged extensive deputy-on-inmate violence could land plaintiff attorneys nearly $1 million in attorney fees.
