A conference call Tuesday coordinated by management at Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP between the firm?s California offices alerted lawyers they would be laid off, their last paychecks coming next week, according to a person with direct knowledge of the matter.
As the New York firm nears collapse, the firm?s key partners in California are now beginning to find work elsewhere.
