Solar City moves toward IPO

Solar City has taken another step forward in its path towards a public offering later this year by filing a confidential submission of its draft registration statement.

San Mateo-based Solar City, a residential solar installation company that uses a lease-financing model, announced Monday it had taken another step forward in its path towards a public offering later this year, filing a confidential submission of its draft registration statement on April 26.
