A former mayor of Upland pleaded guilty to bribery charges on Thursday, admitting he accepted $5,000 in exchange for helping a business obtain a permit from the city.
John V. Pomierski, who resigned from office last year after being named in a grand jury indictment, faces up to 10 years in federal prison. U.S. District Judge Virginia A. Phillips is scheduled to issue a sentence on Aug. 6.
