Fenwick guides Facebook on patent buy
Fenwick & West LLP advised Facebook Inc. on its $550 million purchase of patents from Microsoft Corp.

PALO ALTO - Two weeks after helping Microsoft Corp. buy $1 billion worth of patents from New York-based AOL Inc., Covington & Burling LLP again advised Microsoft, this time on selling many of those patents to Menlo Park-based Facebook Inc. for $550 million on Monday.
San Francisco partner Bruce R. Deming led the Covington & Burling team for Microsoft on both transactions.
