Chinese ARTifact

Built entirely of bricks made by Ah Louis, leader of the Chinese settlement in San Luis Obispo, the Ah Louis Store served as bank, counting house, post office, and general merchandise and herb store for more than 2,000 Chinese laborers who built railroad tunnels in the area. Today, Ah Louis' son runs the Chinese art and furnishings shop at 800 Palm St.
