Merger of Legal Aid Programs Is Abruptly Halted

In a turn of events that leaves the future configuration of legal aid services in Los Angeles and Orange counties in limbo, a proposed merger between the Legal Aid Society of Orange County and the Legal Services Program for Pasadena and San Gabriel-Pomona Valley has been halted by objections from the heads of two other aid groups - Neal Dudovitz, executive director of San Fernando Legal Services, and Bruce Iwasaki, executive director of the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles.
