Family Blames Death on Bone Product

The family of a California woman who went into respiratory arrest and died after neck surgery has filed a lawsuit blaming a popular bone-growth product made by Medtronic Inc.

LOS ANGELES - The family of a California woman who went into respiratory arrest and died after neck surgery has filed a lawsuit blaming a popular bone-growth product made by Medtronic Inc.

Shirley Nisbet died because a company salesman persuaded her doctor to use the Infuse Bone Graft in her neck, a use not approved by the Food and Drug Administration, lawyers for the Nisbet family contend.
