Mistress Severed From Sheriff's Corruption Trial

The federal corruption trial of Mike Carona will continue without the former Orange County sheriff's mistress nearby as a co-defendant.

SANTA ANA - The federal corruption trial of Mike Carona will continue without the former Orange County sheriff's mistress nearby as a co-defendant.

In a ruling Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Andrew J. Guilford granted a motion by Debra Hoffman's attorney to sever the case against her from the ongoing trial of Carona.
