Jury Finds for Chevron in Nigerian Case

A federal jury on Monday rejected the claims of Nigerian plaintiffs who said Chevron Corp. was responsible for the shooting deaths and injuries that took place on an offshore oil platform in Nigeria more than 10 years ago.

SAN FRANCISCO - A federal jury on Monday rejected the claims of Nigerian plaintiffs who said Chevron Corp. was responsible for the shooting deaths and injuries that took place on an offshore oil platform in Nigeria more than 10 years ago.

The seven-man, two-woman panel deliberated less than three days after a month-long trial before reaching its verdict.
