Woman Defeats Lawyer's Lien for Fees

LOS ANGELES - A woman paralyzed by multiple sclerosis said she nearly lost her home because of the actions of a unscrupulous Los Angeles lawyer who coerced her into signing a lien to guarantee his fees, then later tried to foreclose despite a ruling stating he overcharged her by $70,000.
