Judge Nominees Clear Senate Committee
The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee Thursday approved for the second time 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals nominee Goodwin H. Liu and Northern District of California district judge nominee Edward M. Chen.

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee voted along party lines Thursday in approving for the second time two controversial California judicial nominees.
The committee voted 12-7 in favor of 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals nominee Goodwin H. Liu and Northern District of California district judge nominee Edward M. Chen.
