A fifth lawyer agreed to be disbarred for defrauding homeowners seeking mortgage modifications.
In a stipulation, Brian Colombana of Laguna Hills admitted he engaged "in a scheme to defraud... clients, by exploiting them for personal gain" and that he failed to obtain modifications for 12 clients who had paid him nearly $36,000 in fees, which he did not refund.
