Manatt, Munger guide mine deal

Firms help Navajo Nation and Southern California Edison Co. in Navajo's purchase of a coal mine, among other matters.

Manatt, Phelps & Phillips LLP in Los Angeles represented Navajo Nation subsidiary Navajo Transitional Energy Co. LLC in its $85 million purchase last week of BHP Navajo Coal Co., owner and operator of the Navajo Mine in northwestern New Mexico.
