Brown appoints lawyer to court reporters regulator

John K. Liu joins the California Court Reporters Board.

Gov. Jerry Brown on Friday appointed John K. Liu to the California Court Reporters Board, the state board responsible for regulating the state's court reporters.


Liu, a private attorney formerly with Fenwick and West LLP from 2008 to 2012, currently works as counsel of Lowenstein Sandler LLP's corporate department.


The appointment requires senate confirmation. Liu is a Democrat.
