FDA has issued new food safety regulations to fight terrorism

Last month, the Food and Drug Administration issued a final rule, under the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), titled "Mitigation Strategies to Protect Food Against Intentional Adulteration." FSMA mandates that the FDA establish food defense criteria to address hazards that may be introduced with the intention to cause wide scale public health harm, including by acts of terrorism.
