Debate rages over state's reputation for anti-business legal environment
Business interests regularly rake California over the coals for its allegedly anti-business legal environment. But in the eyes of consumer attorneys, such claims are specious.

SACRAMENTO - With the legislative session over, pro-business lobby Civil Justice Association of California president Kim Stone is proclaiming victory over a slew of bills that would've spurred new lawsuits against companies.
"Frivolous lawsuits are allowed to flourish" in California, she said. The only bright spot is "the Legislature doesn't want to make it much worse." ...
