Federal Circuit should lead on online access

Online access to over a decade of case dockets just went poof! at the Federal Circuit, and the 2nd, 7th and 11th U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeal. This is unfortunate and troubling, to put it mildly. By Andrew Dhuey

A recent announcement on the website of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit led with the positive: "To view case information and documents in cases docketed Mar. 1, 2012, and later please log into CM/ECF PACER." Then, the bad news: "PACER no longer supports access to Federal Circuit case information and documents in cases filed from 1996 to 2011."
