Landau Lawyers League crowns hoops champions

The Landau Lawyers League finished up its summer basketball season last week with all three divisions crowning champions. In the "A" division, the Lateral Link squad outpaced the Sias Carr 59-45 with Nima Javaherian leading the winning team with 22 points. Jason Sias scored 18 points in a losing effort. In the "B" division, Latham & Watkins won a nail-biter over BakerHostetler, edging them 43-38. TJ Finley of Latham scored 10 points to lead his team to victory in a game dominated by defense. Turrea Powell led the losing team with 13 points. The "C" division championship game was a blowout with Alston & Bird beating Orrick Harrington 64-46. Nathan Sinning was the MVP for Alston scoring 25 points, while Blake Osborn led Orrick with 16. — Henry Meier
