Injured trucker sues over independent contractor classification

The lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court Wednesday comes at a time when at least three 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rulings have gone against trucking companies.

LOS ANGELES - A trucker who was injured and became disabled after a refrigerator he was delivering fell on his head has sued his employer and an insurance company claiming he was misclassified as an independent contractor and denied insurance benefits.
