SF plaintiffs' attorney chosen to lead GM litigation

A federal judge Friday picked San Francisco plaintiff's attorney Elizabeth J. Cabraser to help lead a mass of litigation against General Motors Co. for ignition defects that prompted the recall of millions of vehicles this year.

A federal judge picked San Francisco plaintiffs' attorney Elizabeth J. Cabraser to help lead a mass of litigation against General Motors Co. for ignition defects that prompted the recall of millions of vehicles this year.


The cases, consolidated in New York, also raise interesting questions about what the company knew before its bankruptcy and subsequent government bailout in 2009.
