Court Rejects Woman's Death-Sentence Appeal
SAN FRANCISCO - The first woman sentenced to death since capital punishment was reinstated in 1977 moved a step closer to execution Thursday when the California Supreme Court rejected automatic appeals by her and her boyfriend, who were convicted of two 1986 sex slayings.
