Jurist Cut Teeth on 'Perry Mason'

LOS ANGELES - When Los Angeles Superior Court Judge H. Chester Horn Jr. was a boy growing up in Pasadena, he'd sit glued to his family's black-and-white TV set, devouring episodes of "Perry Mason," the fictional criminal defense attorney and master of surprise endings created by Erle Stanley Gardner.
