Dow, Shell Lose Bid to Erase Nicaraguan Pesticide Verdicts

LOS ANGELES - Be careful what you wish for. You might get it. Arguing a lack of jurisdiction, 13 years ago, Dow Chemical Co. and Shell Oil Co. had successfully removed from U.S. to Nicaraguan courts lawsuits filed by more than 1,000 Nicaraguan banana farmers alleging injuries caused by a toxic pesticide.
