A Texas federal jury hit Apple Inc. with a $625.6 million patent verdict Wednesday after finding the iPhone maker liable for infringing four patents held by software company VirnetX Holding Corp.
VirnetX alleged that its patented technology was infringed by various versions of Apple's virtual private network (VPN) feature, video messaging FaceTime system and iMessage service.
