An Orange County Superior Court judge ruled Wednesday that anyone staying in a motel in Costa Mesa as of Feb. 25 would be granted an exemption from the city's anti-vagrancy ordinance, which requires long-term motel occupants to move every 30 days.
Judge Sheila Fell issued the mandatory preliminary injunction in response to a lawsuit filed last December on behalf of long-term motel residents.
