Finney as Masry, Just One of the Guys

Who really is Edward Masry, the lawyer depicted in the film "Erin Brockovich," which opens this Friday at a theater near you? Troops, he's one rich lawyer! As noted in Friday's column, Masry, along with L.A. lawyers Tom Girardi and Walter Lack, took on utility Pacific Gas & Electric over chromium poisoning in Hinkley. When PG&E cut a $333 million settlement check in 1997, Masry and the others were in for a reported 40 percent of the gross.
