Cooley Forces Garcetti Into Runoff By Capturing 5,652 More Votes

Los Angeles County District Attorney Gil Garcetti, criticized for his alleged failure to uncover the Rampart police corruption scandal sooner, has been forced into a November runoff by challenger Steve Cooley, who in an upset victory, narrowly garnered more votes than the incumbent.
