After only 28 minutes of deliberations, a Los Angeles federal jury last week returned a complete defense verdict in a $5 million lawsuit against Deerbrook Insurance Co. The plaintiff, Yan Fang Du, suffered a brain injury in a 2005 auto accident by one of Deerbrook's customers, claimed Deerbrook had unreasonably refused to settle her claim against the insured for the $100,000 policy limits.
