9th Circuit Weighs Muslim Head Garb

An appellate panel appeared poised this week to reverse rulings by an earlier panel and a district court that found a Muslim woman in a Santa Ana holding facility was not entitled to certain religious protections.

PASADENA - A panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals took a second look this week at a federal lawsuit against Orange County after its sheriff's deputies forced a Muslim woman to remove her head scarf while in custody and during a court appearance.
