New Rules to Streamline Lawyer Discipline

New procedural rules for attorney discipline trials have defense lawyers upset and even some of the State Bar prosecutors and judges are nervous.

New procedural rules for attorney discipline trials have upset defense lawyers and even made some of the State Bar prosecutors and judges nervous.


The rules, which take effect the first of the year, will jettison the California Evidence Code and replace it with the evidence rules used in most administrative law proceedings.
