PALO ALTO - For a decade, Intellectual Ventures has acquired and licensed patents without ever filing a lawsuit. That changed Wednesday when the Bellevue, Wa.-based company abandoned its no-litigation strategy and filed three patent infringement complaints in the District of Delaware against nine technology companies, a majority of which are based or have operations in California.
