Fenwick: Three Times a Winner

Global M&A Network gave Fenwick & West reason to celebrate this holiday season. On Nov. 19, it presented the firm with both the "Technologies Deal of the Year" and the "Cross Border M&A Deal of the Year" awards at the Annual Americas M&A Atals Awards Gala held at the Waldorf Astoira in New York. The Technologies award recognized Fenwick's representation of SonicWALL, Inc.'s $717 million acquisition, and was accepted by Kris Winthrow and Richard Dickson from the Mountain View office. The Cross Border recognized Fenwick's representation of Diamond Foods, Inc. when they acquired Kettle Foods for $615 million from Lion Capital. After he accepted the Cross Border award on behalf of the firm, Douglas Cogen, co-chair of the firm's mergers and acquisitions group, made a second trip to the stage for the "M&A Lawyer of the Year" award. In addition to leading the Diamond Foods M&A team, he also advised ArcSight, Inc. in its $1.5 billion acquisition by Hewlett-Packard and counseled Cisco System's $2.9 billion acquisition of Starent Networks.
