Summer Stephan named interim San Diego County District Attorney

The San Diego County Board of Supervisors announced Wednesday that Chief Deputy District Attorney Summer Stephan will serve as interim head of the office after current District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis steps down on July 7.

San Diego’s chief deputy district attorney, who plans to run for the office next year, will become interim DA after District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis steps down on July 7.

Dumanis endorsed the candidacy of her chief deputy, Summer Stephan, according to the district attorney’s office.
