LA hospital settles fraud claim with $42M payout

Pacific Alliance Medical Center Inc. has agreed to pay a $42 million settlement to resolve allegations that it was submitting false claims to the Medicare and MediCal programs.

Pacific Alliance Medical Center Inc. agreed to pay $42 million to end allegations it submitted false claims to the Medicare and Medi-Cal programs.

The U.S. attorney’s office for the central district announced on Wednesday that the owners of Pacific Alliance, an acute care hospital in Los Angeles’ Chinatown district, will pay $31.9 million to the U.S. and $10 million to California.
