Judge rejects Uber PAGA settlement in heated hearing

At an explosive hearing at which plaintiff and defense lawyers tangled with the judge and took reciprocrated shots at intervening atttorneys, a jurist denied for now a proposed deal between Uber Technologies Inc.and its California drivers to resolve Private Attorneys General Act claims against the company.

Los Angeles county Superior Court Judge Maren E. Nelson rejected, for now, an agreement between Uber Technologies Inc. and its California drivers to resolve a lawsuit.

After an explosive hearing at which plaintiff and defense lawyers tangled with the judge and intervening attorneys, the judge denied for now a deal between Uber Technologies Inc. and its California drivers to resolve Private Attorneys General Act claims against the company.
