Hearing on fired LA Times cartoonist becomes animated

A lawsuit that terminated cartoonist and blogger Ted Rall filed against the Los Angeles Times may soon go off the rails.

LOS ANGELES — A lawsuit that terminated cartoonist and blogger Ted Rall filed against the Los Angeles Times may soon go off the rails.

At a contentious hearing Thursday, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Joseph R. Kalin granted Rall’s motion for a continuance until next Friday to argue the Times’ motion to strike his complaint, because Rall’s legal team from Shegerian & Associates Inc. indicated they’re done with the case....
