State Bar to require invoices from lobbyist but pay same monthly fee

State Auditor Elaine M. Howle, who recommended the bar’s lobbyist submit detailed invoices, said the new contract did not meet the spirit of her suggestion.

The State Bar’s primary outside lobbyist will have to submit monthly invoices documenting the work she performed as part of her new contract, but she will still be paid a flat monthly fee of $13,500.

State Auditor Elaine M. Howle, who recommended recently that the bar start mandating detailed invoices, expressed some disappointment about the bar’s new deal with lobbyist Jennifer Wada.
