Douglas B. Warrick, who worked as a public defender for nearly 20 years in Contra Costa and Los Angeles counties, died unexpectedly April 16.

Longtime public defender Douglas B. Warrick, who worked for nearly two decades in Contra Costa and Los Angeles counties, died unexpectedly April 16. He was 59.
The criminal defense attorney suffered for years from intestinal health problems and recently spent time away from work on disability following a biking accident, according to friends and colleagues.
