9th Circuit conference echoes battles with Trump

The 9th Circuit Judicial Conference kicks off on Monday in San Francisco with a swearing-in ceremony for new citizens, marking what appears to be a new political edge for the annual appellate conference. This year’s conference also features panels on fake news, restoring public confidence in elections, and a retrospective on the executive order to round up thousands of Japanese Americans in internment camps during World War II, as well as the conference’s first citizenship ceremony since 2002.
