Robert E. Coyle, am icon of federal courthouse construction, died late Monday night. He was 82.
"He was a local giant here," Eastern District Chief Judge Anthony W. Ishii said Tuesday.
Coyle was nominated by President Ronald Reagan on March 11, 1982, to a seat vacated by Myron D. Crocker. He served as chief judge of the Eastern District from 1990 to 1996, when he assumed senior status. He continued to hear cases unt...
