Two members of US attorney's office elevated to magistrate judgeships

Alka Sagar and Douglas F. McCormick were appointed as magistrate judges Friday.

Two members of the Central District U.S. attorney's office were appointed as magistrate judges Friday. Newly appointed U.S. Magistrate Judge Alka Sagar was plucked from the Los Angeles office where she's served since 1987, most recently as head of the office's major frauds section. She will sit in the district's western division replacing U.S. District Judge Fernando M. Olguin, who was elevated to his current position in January. ...
