The State Bar can't collect attorney fees when it wins an anti-SLAPP motion ridding itself of a lawsuit by a lawyer upset over being disciplined, an appellate court ruled Wednesday.
A trial court judge who awarded fees to the bar had no subject matter jurisdiction to hear a case challenging discipline against an attorney and therefore no jurisdiction over the anti-SLAPP motion or related fees, a three-judge panel held....
