San Diego County offers gift cards for guns
San Diego County District Attorney Bonnie M. Dumanis today kicked off an annual “guns-for-gift cards” exchange event in southeast San Diego. The program, which began in 2008, is organized by the United African-American Ministerial Action Council and offers gift cards to participants who turn in unloaded guns. To date, the event has gathered more than 740 guns with the cooperation of the San Diego Police Department and San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
