ACLU Did Investigate After Learning of Fatal Prisoner Beating From 'Intermediary'

Peter Eliasberg, managing attorney of the ACLU, clarifies account of steps taken after learning of eyewitness report of fatal prisoner beating.

I wish to clarify a story that reported the ACLU/SC was unable to follow up after an "intermediary" brought to our attention that a prisoner in the Los Angeles County jail said he had witnessed sheriffs' deputies beat and kill another prisoner.
