Lawyers Were Never the Problem

Entirely unregulated markets have resulted in a form of big-government socialism beyond would-be regulators' wildest dreams. The problem here was never too many laws or lawyers, but too few.

During in the American economic paradigm shift that occurred largely in the 1970s and '80s, one debating point was that the American economy was ladled, shackled and betrundled with too many lawyers. Japan was held as an example of a dynamic, unfettered economy that was not only outperforming, but buying up America, starting with Rockefeller Center.
